Tap Arrows puzzle game

Project overview

What was built for this project?

Tap Arrows is a puzzle game published on Google Play. The idea is simple: the board holds arrows, and an arrow can only be tapped once its path to the edge is clear; the goal is to clear every arrow.

Under that simplicity sits a full puzzle engine: a solver that verifies every level and generates hints, a level generator with measured difficulty, and seven mechanics introduced gradually. Progress is saved locally without accounts, and the game works fully offline.
  • 600 levels in 20 chapters, every level verified by the game's solver
  • Three modes: Classic, Daily Challenge with a streak calendar, and Endless
  • Seven mechanics: obstacles, colored gates, keys and locks, frozen arrows, breakable blocks, portals and direction switches
  • Solver-powered hints and undo
  • Mastery medals and an illustrated guide for each mechanic
  • Offline friend challenges with a share code
  • Daily goals, weekly badges, a tools shop and optional car skins
  • Arabic and English with RTL, high contrast and reduced motion
  • Local saves with backups, no account needed, fully offline
  • Rewarded and between-level ads only, with a privacy consent form
  • Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config
  • Bilingual official website with privacy, terms and data deletion pages

01

The challenge

The goal was a calm Arabic and English puzzle game for short sessions that needs no account or connection, offers months of content without unsolvable or repetitive levels, and carries ads that do not get in the player's way.

02

The solution

A Flutter game whose puzzle engine is separate from the UI, ads and Firebase: a solver that verifies every level and powers hints, a level generator with difficulty analysis, and 600 levels in 20 chapters plus a daily challenge and endless mode. Saves are local with backup copies that survive crashes, ads are rewarded or between levels only with no banners, and if any external service fails the game keeps running.

Development approach

A clear path. From first question to launch.

The game engine (rules, solver, validator, level generator and difficulty analysis) is written independently of Flutter, ads and Firebase, so it is tested on its own. Automated tests grew from 129 in the first release to 367 in version 1.2, all passing, alongside static analysis, AAB and signing validation and 16 KB page-size checks. The store listing was prepared in Arabic and English with keyword research for each language.
