Moving an existing project to a new developer starts with a shared picture of its current state. For a Gulf business working with a remote team, a useful brief explains what works, what blocks customers and what the next delivery should achieve.

Record the current situation

List the project goal, public URL, supported platforms and the last release you considered stable. Separate blocking defects, unfinished functions and improvements planned for later. This gives the new team a practical starting point for the first delivery.

Describe the steps for each issue, the result you see and the result you expect. A short recording using sample data helps reproduce it. For example, creating a record might work while editing the same record on mobile fails.

Establish the handover materials

Identify the code repository, hosting, database, domain, publishing accounts and external services. Record who controls each account and arrange access according to your ownership and existing agreement. Share the public brief first, then agree on private access to the code and test environment for the review.

Agree on a review deliverable

Ask for setup instructions, reproduced defects, findings that still need investigation and a proposed repair sequence. Each repair should have an acceptance condition you can check. Dependencies between tasks help explain the order and estimated effort.

Question Useful deliverable
Can the project run? A defined test environment and setup steps
What blocks the main workflow? Reproducible issues
What comes first? An initial release scope
How will we accept it? A testable build and change summary

Plan staged delivery

The first stage may restore operation, followed by a core workflow and agreed improvements. Cost depends on code condition, documentation, integrations and testing effort. Laravel deployment also involves server configuration and application health checks. Laravel deployment reference.
